Members are appointed by the mayor (subject to confirmation by the City Council) and serve five-year terms. They are compensated per Resolution Number 3041, dated August 22, 1997. Legal basis Municipal Code 2.60 and Wisconsin State Statutes § 62.13.

Duties

The Police and Fire Commission assist in selection of the Police Chief and Fire Chief, they approve appointments or subordinates made by Chief. The Commission carries out duties regarding employment practices, disciplinary action and dismissals.
