The public is invited to attend an involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements on WIS 29 between County QQ in the Town of Clifton and WIS 65 in the City of River Falls in Pierce County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, in the Commons at River Falls High School, 818 Cemetery Road. A brief presentation will provided at 5 p.m. followed by an open house format where project staff will be available to answer both general questions about the overall project and more specific questions related to details about each of the projects.

This project is needed to address culvert deficiencies for the existing large metal culvert pipe immediately south of the intersection of WIS 29 and 805th Avenue. 7650-01-05 – County QQ South Junction to Cemetery Road
This 5.5-mile project between the south junction of County QQ and Cemetery Road is needed to address pavement deficiencies and crash patterns at the intersection of County E. The bridge over the Greenwood Valley Creek also has railing and deck deficiencies. The proposed improvement will replace the existing pavement, upgrade guardrail and provide geometric improvements at the County E and Cemetery Road intersections. The Greenwood Valley Creek bridge deck will be milled and overlaid with concrete pavement to address cracks, patches and exposed rebar. The bridge railing and adjacent guardrail will be replaced.
7650-02-03 – County FF & 770th Avenue Intersection
This project at the intersection of County FF and 770th Avenue with WIS 29 is needed to address a pattern of crashes involving turning vehicles. The proposed improvement will install left-turn lanes for eastbound and westbound traffic along with a right-turn lane for westbound traffic.
Construction of these projects currently are scheduled for 2021. WIS 29 is proposed to be detoured using US 10 and WIS 65 for the portion of the project between County QQ and Cemetery Road. WIS 29/Cemetery Road between South Main Street and WIS 65 will be open to traffic but subject to periodic flagging and/or lane closures during construction.
This meeting will present final project concepts and focus primarily on traffic control and staging.
