On April 15, 2025, the City Council reaffirmed its commitment to the four Strategic Priorities -- Connected Community, Economic Vitality, Financial Sustainability, and Quality Municipal Services -- that are detailed in the 2018-2022 Strategic Plan. The City Council continues to use this Plan as a guiding document. Strategic Initiatives are established and implemented to ensure that City staff have a formal workplan focused on the community’s most important needs and opportunities, as determined by the City Council. The selected Strategic Priorities and updated Strategic Initiatives provide Council and staff a clear roadmap for allocating resources, guiding policy, and measuring progress.
2025-2027 Strategic Initiatives
- The Council has been approving two-year workplans since 2009 that reflect their vision and priorities for the community and organization. On August 26, 2025, the Common Council passed a resolution adopting 2025-2027 Strategic Initiatives.
