Taxi Service

Scheduling a Ride

RUNNINGS, INC. is hiring drivers. Please contact them directly to inquire.

You can see the current rates here.

Please call 715-425-7878 to schedule a ride. Please allow yourself extra time when scheduling a ride. Turn around times now include cleaning between riders.

Drivers will ask this screening question before agreeing to any ride: "Are you experiencing any respiratory symptoms?" If the answer is “yes,” the rider will not be picked up. Additionally, the Shared-Ride Taxi will:

  • Prioritize medical appointments, pharmacy trips, and trips for food and basic supplies;
  • Limit each taxi ride to one passenger (unless passengers are from the same household);
  • Provide work rides only to workplaces deemed essential by Governor Tony Evers; and
  • Clean taxi between each rider; in particular, areas that have been touched by a rider such as door handles, back of front seat, etc.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has extended the face mask requirement for all transportation networks, including public transportation, through January 18, 2022. TSA’s initial face mask requirement went into effect on February 1, 2021, with an expiration date of May 11, 2021.

While this announcement extends the date of enforcement, all other aspects of the requirement remain unchanged, including exemptions and civil penalties.

Safe Ride Home Program

The Safe Ride Program is cancelled until further notice.

The 2016 Safe Ride Home pilot program began in December 2015 as a partnership project between the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) and the City’s shared ride taxi service. The program’s emphasis was getting students home safely during the winter months. However, based on the ridership results, the usage was higher than expected by both students and the general public.

The taxi service provides free rides for UWRF students from Thursday through Saturday nights, 10 p.m. - 3 a.m., when classes are in session. The general public pays the regular fare.
